Skills Bootcamps are funded training initiatives aimed at adults who want to build in-demand skills in a relatively short timeframe. Unlike lengthy apprenticeships or traditional full-time courses, these bootcamps pack practical, industry-relevant learning into compact, employer-aligned modules (usually under 16 weeks). At Activate Training, we specialise in Bootcamps with real technical relevance — especially in Electrical installation, Renewables, and Heat pump systems.

We assess eligibility case by case, especially for those without prior experience, to ensure you can meaningfully succeed in the training.
What’s the Schedule & Commitment?
- The Level 2 & Level 3 Electrical Bootcamps run part-time typically over 8 weeks, allowing participants to balance work or personal responsibilities. Activate Trade Training
- The Green Skills Bootcamp is a shorter, 6-week program for those already qualified at Level 3. Activate Trade Training
- The Heat Pump Bootcamp is designed to be intensely focused, giving you multiple qualifications in one package. Activate Trade Training
- Each bootcamp includes employability modules, so alongside technical learning, you’ll build soft skills, CV readiness, interview preparation, and sector-specific knowledge.
How Funding Works
These bootcamps are part-funded which means learners benefit from subsidised costs. The funding support helps lower the financial barrier while preserving the high technical value of the training.

How to Get Started

- Contact Activate to check availability, eligibility, start dates, and where you’ll study
- Submit your application — we’ll guide you through any documentation, pre-requisites, or assessments
- Attend Induction session and complete the bootcamp, earn your qualification, and leverage our support into your next opportunity.
Eligibility:
Our Skills Bootcamps are designed to help individuals gain valuable, industry-recognised skills and qualifications in the electrical and renewable energy sectors. We welcome applications from a wide range of participants, including:
- Unemployed or economically inactive individuals seeking to start a new career.
- Career changers looking to retrain or gain practical, work-ready skills.
- Underrepresented groups in the construction and renewable industries (including women, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds).
- Employees or apprentices looking to upskill, reskill, or achieve a relevant Diploma or certification to progress within their company.
To be eligible, learners must:
- Be aged 19 or over.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Be able to commit to completing the full programme and participate in all learning and assessment activities.
Notes for Employers
Employers are encouraged to refer existing staff or apprentices who would benefit from formal training and qualification. Our Bootcamps are designed to support both individual learners and employer-sponsored participants, helping build a stronger, better-qualified workforce.
