Domestic Energy Assessor Course – Online with Live Tutor

The Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) course is designed to take you completely through to qualification, all delivered online by experienced tutors. This course is focused entirely on completing your full portfolio with a live tutor support along the way. The course is typically split into several sessions for convenience — meaning no follow up work is needed after the course. Once you have completed your portfolio of property assessments, your City & Guilds qualification is assessed, your certificate will be awarded and you'll be ready to start work as a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor.

Why Choose Online Training with Activate Trade Training?

How Our Online Course Works

The course is delivered via a secure online platform typically over one full day, with several additional support sessions within the same month. The first session is a full day where you will learn all the essential knowledge to be able to confidently conduct a professional Domestic Energy Assessment on a property.  You’ll then join live workshops as required at your own convenience with your trainer and fellow learners as follow up support/progress sessions as you begin to produce your portfolio of work. Our online learning sessions are just like a physical classroom, using a simple video link provided in advance.

Throughout the course, you’ll:

  • Take part in tutorials and case studies
  • Receive step-by-step guidance using RDSAP software
  • Be supported in completing all required assignments and portfolio tasks
  • Have access to all digital materials and software needed to produce EPCs

Course Includes

  • Live virtual classroom training
  • Pre-course preparation materials
  • RDSAP software and hands-on training
  • City & Guilds registration and certification
  • Live property assessment (virtual or in-person where applicable)
  • Full portfolio completion during the course
  • Ongoing support from our expert assessors
  • Free EPC software
  • Technical help line and mentoring

Once completed, you will receive the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Energy Assessment, enabling you to register as a DEA and produce legally required Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for properties being sold, let, or built. This qualification is also essential for working on Government-backed initiatives such as ECO (Energy Company Obligation) schemes.
